
Kevin Norton, the Founder, Owner and Principal trainer of Nurturing Nortons, is a qualified teacher, trainer and public speaker. He has formal qualifications in counselling, administration, economics, management, business and marketing. Kevin has a background in the public service, business, and community organisations where he has held leadership responsibility at NSW/ACT level.
He is passionate about customer service, identifying then meeting needs, adding value and nurturing growth for all clients.
Mr. Norton is experienced in, and trains, a wide range of topics. A few examples are presentation skills, leadership and team building, reception skills, interviews and rehearsal for them, introduction to small business, assertive communication, building self-esteem and confidence, time management, dealing with negative behaviour, continuous improvement, customer service beyond the basics, marketing, literacy and numeracy personal tuition, preparing for career change, generational diversity for leaders, helping people with a disability, etc.
To maximise value for clients, he sometimes uses the expertise of other high quality consultants in training courses.
He has been heavily involved in public speaking and presentation skills for 25 years. Mr Norton has conducted a very large number of successful courses in this area, e.g. for government, consultants, small and large business, university lecturers, community organisations, apprentice jockeys, tourist guides, schools, CIT Solutions Pty Ltd, ANU and Brain Gyms. Secondly, Kevin privately tutors a wide range of people of various ages in presentation skills [and other subjects). He is also a qualified counsellor.
Mr. Norton has:
- held the highest Australian leadership position in Toastmasters International, a public speaking organisation, where he was responsible for 4,500 people
- performed the role of ACT Secretary of National Speakers
- studied a large amount of expert opinion on public speaking and presentation skills
- judged at international level, and six times at state level
- won the 2006 regional speech contest
- won the regional speech evaluation contest six times
- accreditation in public speaking, teaching and training. .
